Britney -- Worst. Witness. Ever.

TMZ has learned Britney Spears had quite the interaction today with L.A. County Commissioner Scott Gordon, and she dug a hole deeper than a Louisiana swamp.

We're told Spears had a back and forth with the Commish that lasted approximately 40 minutes. She constantly interrupted him and at times was extremely sarcastic. At one point she started thanking the judge for what he had done, but her tone was heavily laced with disdain.

We're told the Commish explained to Spears how she had gotten to the point she's at -- why defying the various orders she was supposed to comply with raised concerns that she was not a responsible person. Spears didn't get it. She was at times contentious, argumentative and condescending.

We're told K-Fed's lawyer didn't object to her testimony, it was so bad. One description of today's testimony, pretty simple -- "Appalling."

16. Britney, and her entire life is appalling. No shock here. And she is stupid---she just isn't getting it. She isn't special in the courtroom. In the legal system, she is simply an unfit mother.

17. Don't be too quick to believe TMZ's reporting here. Did a little bird tell TMZ about this? In the last few months, TMZ has shown itself to be quite the opposite of impartial in its reporting about Spears. On the other hand, People.com has managed to stay objective in comparison. People quotes the court's spokesperson, who should know since it's his official job to know, saying this -- ""Ms. Spears did speak (at the hearing)," says court spokesman Allan Parachini, "and her voice was soft and respectful."

19. I totally 100% agree with #9 (Mary Beth, 8:48PM). My thoughts exactly -- given that Britney was at times "contentious, argumentative and condescending" with The Commish, how is it possible that she was given ANY consideration? This whole saga continues to baffle and depress me.

20. Why do we CONSTANTLY have to have Britney Spears updates on this site every 30 minutes? I am sooo sick of her and her problems. She made her bed, now let her lay in it.
How bout reporting on something more newsworthy out there-Britney Spears is not the only person in the Entertainment Industry.

22. And you got this information where? "We're told..." isn't a reliable source in my book. Other sites and reports are not agreeing with what turdmz has "been told...".

23. Hey what's wrong with you people? Britney knows how to sell her stuff. When she flashes her crotch, it makes her more exciting. And that makes her more money. When she loses her kids, she gains more popularity. And that makes her more money. I predict her album will be the biggest selling in 2007. She's a genious.

24. This is probably why she did not attend the first hearing. she clearly was not ready to do so mentally.This is why we adults hire lawyers we pay them to speak for us.GEEZ..I was worried she would fumble all over this and make yet another mess.ugg. OMG.

25. Well, I think it's funny that she's so good at getting caught! It's so funny, she shouldn't break any rules she just doesn't know how to do it. Some people aren't cut out to be bad.

Seriously though, her behavior seems like anger to me. She's angry with a lot of stuff right now; you can see it in her eyes. She's got something going on organically and it's so hard when you're a "nobody" let alone someone who is hounded by flashing cameras all day. I don't condone her behavior but I do think she is going to be like Elvis and blow her head off.

29. No one has said "no" to Unfitney for years. She has no idea how to be respectful. Judge should have thrown her butt in a cell for contempt of court.

She's mess this up like she messes everything up. And her fans will continue to eat her poo-scented pablum and music and whatever other garbage the Britney (TM) machine spews out..
